after 2 weeks of sun n occasional rain n freedom from winter wear bundle
it almost welcoming to be back to the cold, unforgiving Calgary
maybe tis place is becoming more of a home now

but yeah, i miss my pinky hearts duvet
n Missy Moo n Belle
they must be excited to add Baby Sham as their partner in crime

but a break from all things familiar n routine is always good

it's almost 4 pm now n i just barely started studying today
bad bad progress *geleng geleng kepala*

it's mini snow storming outside
-4 degrees now...not dat bad but i must be out of my mind if i were to set foot outside the door
heck, i dun even to get out the comfy confines of my duvet
let alone my room n my house
hibernating is wat i do best at times like this heheh
lets hope i can add another kilo or two to the staggering unmoving dial of bathroom scale at 40kg in these few days, shall we?

minus 7 days from the warm equatorial sun of the States
ouh, can't wait to be out of bundles of wintery wears
so, just a peek of the upcoming winter break plans

am leaving cold Calgaria on Dec 20th to Viva Las Vegas babeh!
am so gonna go watch Cirque Du Soleil
am still deciding whether to watch Mystere or KA
need to book the tickets fast! n it's so gonna cost a bomb!

will be driving to the magnificent Grand Canyon for a day
then off to San Diego for few days
the up to Anaheim to met up Mickey and the gang
wheeee~ am going to Disneyland!!!

move along to Hollywood and Universal Studios n downtown LA
i am so gonna take a drive along the Beverly Hills roads *perasan celebrities sebentar*
it would be perfect if we are renting the convertibles
ouh, gambar with the big Hollywood sign is a BIG must!

then off to San Francisco
mau tour the jln bukit2 iteww n the famous Golden Gate Bridge
Alcatraz jugak n Pier 39

back to Vegas again on the New Year
mayb go to Madame Tussaud's and not forgetting shopping la
will be leaving all the heat on Jan 3rd

enroute

so here's the reiterate of my solo adventure
the route : Calgary --> LA -->Taipei --> Singapore --> Kuala Lumpur --> Terengganu
total time traveled including transit : +/- 30 hrs (yup, 30 long hours)

1st leg of journey: Calgary --> LA @ 1910hrs, Fri 13th

i was at the airport since 1700hrs lg
all those security check n US custom clearance horror stories
better be safe than sorry kan
so i manage to get my lugagges checked in all the way to KL *how very convenient*
n they have strong guys helping with bags, saving my vertebrae
i sailed thru US custom n security check *phewww*
Calgary sky was crying as if dun wan me to leave *cesss, perasan*
flight got delayed, cutting my transit time in LA wee bit short
i got to witness sunset on air and it was very mesmerizing *magical*
the first sight of big LA city excites me to no end
i arrived at 2nd terminal of LAX n have to transfer to Tom Bradley International Terminal
suffice to say it's quite a walking distance n quite confusing
imagine, 1st time on US soil n alone plak tuh
Tom Bradley is so buruk i think airport Terengganu lg cantekkk okkkkk? n there are soooo many ppl!
i have to queue like almost 2 hrs just to get my boarding pass
others mostly checking in their bags which i found funny coz u have to check in ur bag at the counter then bring it to the security check n get it scanned then bring it back to the counter to drop it off, complicate eyh?
pastu trus boarding sbb security check line is like forever
apa taknyer, seme pon nk kan take off
jaket, laptop, even kasut pon kna bukak

the real journey begans : LA --> Taipei --> Singapore @ 0055hrs, Sat 14th

from the boarding gate naik bus which takes all the passenger to the aircraft

Singapore Airlines almost lives up to my expectation
seat is very comfy

food not so much, i still like MAS better
but worth the price i paid
the 13 hrs to Taipei is filled with Krisworld n food n aimless merayau around

We arrived at Taipei in the wee hrs of morning

plus i need to save money if i'm ever going to Bandung later
so one hr stop, i just walk from one end of terminal to another

i slept most of the way
when i finally touched down, dh half crancky sbb penat
diri rase cam serabai jer
n i still have 2 more flights *ergh*

i braced myself for the heat
mmg panas!!!
Singapore Changi is heaven
byk shops n free internet!!!!
i'm in good hands later for the journey back to Calgary since i have to overnight in Changi
sempat lg rembat perfume before boarding flight to KL hehe

the almost last flight : Singapore --> KL @ 1245hrs, Sun 15th

my homeland!

with trolley full of bags which the 'gentlemanly' airport workers tolong tengok n tolong comment 'besarnyer bag!' jer -sum things nvr change- i walked thru to the arrival hall
went straight to checked in for the last flight

with fair warning from my mum regarding the overlimit of my luggages, still ralat jugak la bile kna charge rm150
the lady asked if i wanted to pay for it
duh! dah tu, nk tinggal my bag kat airport?
such a waste to just bring 20kg when north america flights allowes up to 46kg, right?

next flight won't be until later in evening
so went for Kenny Rogers n lil freshen up session thanks to him

the one dat got me home : KL --> Terengganu @ 750pm, Sun 15th

it's already night so all i can see is the lights
the moment the plane touches the ground, i was soo relieved dat i finally reached home
wohot! airport br Terengganu very impressive

dh ade dat tunnel so no need to walk on the tarmac anymore *yeay*

getting the lugagges seems like eternity

when i walk thru the arrival gate, the first face i saw was abah n ummi's *happy smpai rase nk nangis*

then my lil bro comes running n the first comment he makes was
'kakak x berubah pon, same jer'
haha...i wonder how he thinks i gonna look after one yr abroad

it's good to be HOME with LOVED ONES

4 days away from Calgary really does me good
Edmonton is refreshing!

4 days in the world's biggest mall
no doubt dat would do some serius damage to your finance even if ur not shopping
which is impossible to do esp when u r traveling

had a blast of time in Galaxyland
went on the Mindbender triple loop roller coaster twice!
and i finally get to go on the Space Shot (missed my chance at Genting last year)
adrenaline is the drug to live for~ i swear!
spent 1 and half day shopping
wished i had try the bungee jumping at the waterpark
made new frens with Malaysians in UofA
finally meet Ariff, a blogger fren

not much pics since its more of a shopping and relaxing trip than a sightseeing trip

now have to catch up with studying
there's two days worth of lecture i missed because of the trip n weeks of lectures before dat i still have to go thru
formative is on next Friday...totally in no mood for school *sighhhhhhhh*

check out West Edmonton Mall where i spent the whole trip at

if i go on Cathay it's gonna be a jolly group fun? but horrible seats n not so nice food?
MAS is known with comfort n good food but i'll be alone in LA for the 1st time plus all those scary immigration stories n the fact i have to stay overnight on da way back here ALONE! not dat i mind...a lil adventure y'all!
SIA deal is not bad at all considering their reputation

mum won't let me travel alone just in case something happen but being me heheh safe to say if i can get away with it, why not?

it was a GREAT holiday!
AWESOMENESS to the max!
i wish it was a longer break or i have more breaks
anyhuuu me n babe iza went on our lil adventure discovering the east side of canada
calgary-ottawa-montreal-quebec city-toronto-niagara falls-calgary
we fly in to ottawa, picked up from airport by and crashed at malaysian's student rooms at carleton uni
otawa greet us with a day of snow storm dumping 25cm of snow/hr
*bummer!*
but we had fun staying in, watching movies n youtube clips n shawarma king
the next day, accompanied with 'local' tour guides we went to parliment hills n surrounding downtown area
too bad not many good pics from ottawa
my battery went dead coz it's too cold n most pics are shakey

to ottawa ppl -kham, pawa, jeme, darshan, farhana, aini, ina, amirah n kak azidah- THANKS so very much!

off to Montreal we go now!
after 3 hrs on VIA tren, Jeremy n his uncle greet us at Bonaventure

the next day we went for a day tour to Quebec City
of all the places on tis trip, i LOVE here the most!
it's breathtakingly beautiful n soooo French n historical n old n just very charming
like all those europe cities i've always dream of visiting
-i'm always a sucker for historical stuffs-
we had nice lunch of poisson de'jour (catch of the day), custom made my Belle (will blog about it later) and found ourselves a McD in green
Back in Montreal, along wit Jeremy we explore the city
as Quebec City, Montreal pretty much very French-y n beautiful
we went to Rue St Catherine, Notre Dame, Au Port, McGill University, Mount Royal
i was so tempted to shop at Rue St Catherine
it was this long stretch of road lined with multiple stories boutiques of all brands imaginable
but am saving it for boxing day later in Toronto
i was a bit sad to leave Montreal and it's charms n da french hotties but i would definitely come back if i have the chance

after 6 hrs aboard VIA tren, we arrived in Toronto
greeted by Zul n Mus, we reunited wit Aini, Farhana, Fong Yi, Ching Yen, Pawa, Mu'min, Kham and meet Azraf
after dinner sponsored by Kelab Umno Kanada
we went to bed early
becoz the next day we r going to the ever fames NIAGARA FALLS!

it was raining dat day but its still beautiful and magnificient

the remaining of holidays were spent in Toronto downtown
we went to Vi Ean's uncle place on Christmas eve n meet up with the Malaysian community there
n her cousins brought us to this house dat put up Christmas lights and sync it with a selection of songs dat u can listen to in ur car
it's an amazing showcase!
wat else we did for a week in Toronto?
we went to watch Disney's High School Musical On Ice on Christmas day, Boxing Day madness the day after, up on CN tower, exploring Royal Ontario Museum for free (they let u in for free 45 mins before closing time, how cool is dat?), running around Toronto downtown snapping pics at City Hall, Osgoode Hall, University of Toronto, Toronto General Hospital, Allan Conservatory, Dundass Square n Eaton Center

we also went to ALL Hard Rock Cafe in Canada



apparently u can only find Hard Rock Cafe in the east of Canada
none in the west side, not even in Vancouver
owh, btw New Year in Toronto is way sucky than in KL
why?no fireworks, seriesly~

we just stay in our room on New Year's Eve
sounds pathetic but better safe than sorry i must say
did i tell u they place where we stay is close to homeless center?
n we had *gasp* an encounter with one
go figure why we couped up in our room on New Year's Eve

it's an amazing break
i got new frens, experience extreme snow n cold, witness new cultures, see new places, meet new ppl
wats not to love wit travelling?

well ppl tis yr winter break perhaps LA?

n cozing up n sleeping of course
hehe...first time flying long distance...so lots of jakun moments

me, me mum n me dad are going on a trip to....lalalala....kota kinabalu, sabah...juz da three of us plus a bunch of me mum school teachers n students...this is our lil adventures (mmg adventurous lil trip pon!)

i have to wake up super early to catch a morn flight to kl and then an afternoon flight to kk.tis is my first flight from kl to anywhere else (jakun #1-slamer ni naik kapal terbang kl-trg, trg-kl jer). 2 hours on board feels like eternity (jakun #2-slamer ni naik sejam jer, x smpat nk pns punggung pon). by the time we landed at kkia, it's getting dark already (br kul 6 padahal) n a bit tired. later that nite, went to psr mlm to have dinner-nasi lauk ikan bakar cicah air asam versi sbh nyumnyumnyum

breakfast of nasi lemak at 630 am (jakun #3-dat early?amazingness btul heheh) then off to mount kinabalu-act, dat's da whole trip about-it's breathtakingly beautiful (totally love at first sight)

well, i didn't exactly scale the mountain (mkn tido jerr for da past few months, stamina mmg hampeh) but i did went up a 1500 feet or so-passing the carson fall-..mayb next time.

in da afternoon, we went to ranau, fames for da hot spring...i didn't bring my bathing suit so just rendam kaki...it's freakingly hot but nice...

a lil detour to pekan ranau b4 heading back to the mountain feet where we stay for da nite...

no shower for me today, it's 18 degrees there, freaking cold.i sleep with my sweater n socks on, hugging me mum n covered in 2 blankets (how am i ever gonna survive calgary?). we went back to kk city, leaving behind those who conquer the peak (jelesnyer..tu la, sape suh x prektis...). stopped by pekan nabalu for a lil souvenier and pretty pics. they have this menara to take pic of mount kinabalu at a beautiful angle.

another round of shopping at craft market in the afternoon (hehe shopping lagih....) then a dinner wit sum VIP i-dun-care-who-u-r...

last day on the land below da wind. lil detour to da fruit market next to craft market to buy some local goodies. met a nice, old japanese couple on hols buying buah salak...reach kl in da afternoon, connecting flight to kt in about 8 hours away...huhu...i think i've scour every nook n inches of lcct, kl passing my time. when it time to check-in, i was so relieved dat my boredom is finally over. huge suprise when we boarding, first the flight is delayed sbb kapal terbang x smpai2, then it was cancelled (wtf?)...haha some stupid contractor doing upgrading works on trg airport cut the wrong cabel n the freaking runway doesn't have lights n we can't land!!! (yup, i was among the unfortunates who got stuck in kl, couldn't fly back to trg). well, at least i get he chance to stay the nite at concorde inn, klia.what a day!

up at 4 am, breakfast at 5 am, flight at 7 am....never, ever take a morning flight, ever, again...so early!!!!i need my beauty sleep...huk huk huk...oh, did i tell u we detouring a bit?yup, the flight was to kota bharu...when we arrive n trying to get out of the airport, got stuck by a bunch of ppl eagerly menyambut tun mahathir coming for the trial of the case him got sprayed by nik sepiah?(yup, i was there too!!). after dat, another 3 hours of taxi ride...by the time we reach home, i was flat out...home!!!my bed!!!my pillows!!!

all n all, it was a great trip..a 5 days turn 6 days trips...been to many places, seen many things, learning new stuffs...i juz love travelling!
